Manchester United predicted lineup vs Lens - Pre-season friendly
- Man Utd take on Lens before facing Athletic Club in Dublin
- Only pre-season game at Old Trafford this summer
- Squad rotation expected but Mount and Onana could start
Manchester United open the curtain at Old Trafford for the 2023/24 season when they host French side Lens in their penultimate summer friendly.
United have already featured in five pre-season games - six if you include a young side's defeat to Wrexham - and have fallen to a couple of defeats having started their schedule in fine form.
They face a Lens side that finished second in Ligue 1 last season to return to the Champions League.
Here's the side Erik ten Hag could deploy, with United also in action on Sunday when they travel to Dublin to face Athletic Club.
Manchester United predicted lineup vs Lens (4-2-3-1)
GK: Andre Onana - Was seen giving Harry Maguire a piece of his mind against Borussia Dortmund. May not need to berate the England international much more in the future.
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Recently celebrated four years as a United player and is duking it out with Diogo Dalot for the right-back spot.
CB: Raphael Varane - Is an injury doubt having missed the Dortmund defeat as a precaution but will hope to face the side he came through at before joining Real Madrid.
CB: Lisandro Martinez - Has been getting stuck into pre-season, most notably enjoying himself in the fiery 2-0 win over Arsenal.
LB: Luke Shaw - Recently admitted Manchester City's treble last season 'hurt' United. The Red Devils had famously completed the feat in 1998/99.
CM: Casemiro - Enjoyed a positive first season at United, displaying his permanent class, and will want to drag his side into the title race in his second campaign at Old Trafford.

CM: Mason Mount - Mount made his competitive Chelsea debut in a 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford and will hope for a more positive result on his first appearance at the ground as a United player.
RW: Antony - Struck his first pre-season goal against Dortmund but was also told to up his game by Jaap Stam. When someone as scary as Jaap Stam says that, it's best to take notice.
AM: Bruno Fernandes - United's new club captain was recently praised by club legend Paul Scholes, who picked out his vision.
LW: Jadon Sancho - Could be sacrificed once a new attacker is signed in the transfer window, but Sancho has still played plenty of football in pre-season this summer, netting against Arsenal.
ST: Marcus Rashford - Once Rasmus Hojlund arrives Rashford should move back out to the left, but until that deal is finalised he will fill the void up front.
