The Mexico football federation confirmed El Tri will take on Colombia in an international friendly on December 16 in Los Angeles, California.
The two nations will collide later this year in southern California at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, standing as the final game of the calendar year for El Tri. The friendly will be part of the 20th anniversary of Mexico's 'MexTour,' as the North American nation has played over 85 games in the United States dating back to 2002.
"Southern California has become a second home for the Mexican National Team, and this match is part of the 'Coliseum Forever' celebration in honor of the stadium's centennial," the Federation said in a release.
After conquering the 2023 Gold Cup with then-interim boss Jaime Lozano at the helm, El Tri decided to appoint Lozano as their new permanent head coach due to his impressive results and approval from the Mexico squad.
Mexico drew with Australia 2-2 in their first game of the September international break are set to take on Uzbekistan on September 12 at Mercedez-Benz Stadium. Lozano's side will then face off against Ghana and Germany in a pair of October friendlies before taking on Colombia at the end of the year.
