Micah Richards gives cutting assessment of Harry Kane's Tottenham career
Pundit Micah Richards says Harry Kane has nothing to show for his career 'apart from the goals' after the England captain moved past Wayne Rooney to go second in the Premier League's all-time scoring charts on 209 - only Alan Shearer (260) now has more in the competition.
Kane headed in the only goal of the game as Spurs beat Crystal Palace on Saturday to move back up to sixth. It was also his 26th league goal of the season, his third-best return for a campaign.
However, he is yet to win a trophy for club or country, having previously gone close in Premier League title races, the Carabao Cup, the Champions League and at Euro 2020.
While former Manchester City and Aston Villa defender Richards lauded Kane's supreme record, he pointed to Spurs' current hectic state and whether the 29-year-old can fulfil his trophy ambitions in north London.
He said on Sky Sports: "He's just amazing. All the noise around Spurs and what they've tried to do and some of the fans and the football they want to play: Harry Kane's remained focused on what he's needed to do and he does what he does best – scoring goals.
"But, there's going to come a time, especially in the summer, where he's going to have to make a decision. Who's the manager going to be there? What are their plans going forward? Because for a player with so much potential and quality to have not won anything – I don't know how he sleeps at night.

"He's an unbelievable talent and he's got nothing to show for it just apart from the goals, which some people would just take a goal. Obviously he's a Spurs legend already and what he's done is absolutely incredible but at the end of your career you want a trophy."
Bayern Munich have been interested in Kane but are keen to avoid a summer transfer window tussle with Spurs, 90min understands, and have moved on to target Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani to bolster their attack.
Kane is delaying a decision on his long-term future until Spurs appoint a new head coach and director, posts which have become available following Antonio Conte's departure and Fabio Paratici's FIFA ban.
Harry Kane's trophy record with Tottenham and England
Tottenham
For one reason or another, Tottenham and Kane could never got over the finishing line during their best years in the 2010s under Mauricio Pochettino.
They reached the League Cup final in the Argentine's debut season where they were downed 2-0 by Chelsea before excellent league campaigns in 2015/16 and 2016/17, the latter being their best ever finish of second.
A magical run to the Champions League final saw Spurs squeek past Manchester City and Ajax largely without Kane. He returned for the final but wasn't sharp as Liverpool coasted to a 2-0 victory in Madrid.
Jose Mourinho was sacked with a League Cup final on the horizon in 2020/21, but interim boss Ryan Mason and Spurs were no match for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City at Wembley, losing 1-0.

England
Kane's goals have helped England put together healthy runs at the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020, though the Three Lions came up short at both tournaments.
A run to the semi finals came to an end at the hands of Croatia in 2018 before England reached the final of the coronavirus-affected Euro 2020. They took the lead in Wembley's final but misses in the penalty shootout saw Italy crowned champions.
England didn't get close at the 2022 World Cup, where Kane missed a penalty during the quarter-final exit at the hands of France.
