Milan Join the Host of Premier League Clubs Interested in Real Madrid's Luka Jovic
Real Madrid's Serbian striker Luka Jovic has attracted the attention of Milan to go alongside the interest from several Premier League sides.
Jovic joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 after scoring 27 goals in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt the previous season. However, the 22-year-old has struggled for opportunities in the Spanish capital, starting just four league matches this campaign.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo has revealed that Serie A sides Milan and Napoli want the striker, to go alongside the Premier League contingent.
At the time play was suspended in Italy, Milan were seventh in the table, with only three sides in the division having scored fewer goals this season. The club raised some funds by selling their highest goalscorer from the previous campaign, Krzysztof Piatek, in January for £21.6m.
This season, Jovic's former teammate Ante Rebic is the club's top scorer, with left-back Theo Hernández just one goal shy of the Croatian.
A 90min exclusive recently revealed that Newcastle and West Ham are leading the way out of the Premier League sides monitoring the forward, although Arsenal are also in the race for the Serbian's signature.
Newcastle, soon to be buoyed the money from their prospective new owners - Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund - remains a possible destination for the 22-year-old.
The Magpies' own expensive addition to the front line, the £40m Joelinton, has found the net just three times this season while West Ham can point toward Sébastien Haller (another former teammate of Jovic) as their own misfiring multi-million pound signing.
Arsenal possess one of Europe's best strikers in the form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the Gabonese international has been linked with a move to Jovic's current employers, Real Madrid.
