Though Los Rayados has a relatively easy path to the tournament final, they have been struggling to succeed in Liga MX. The team is going on a four match winless streak, frustrating players and head coach Javier Aguirre.

Two key players are out for Monterrey: Duvan Vergara and Hector Moreno.

Vergara suffered a head trauma that forces the player to undergo the league’s concussion protocol and complete a rehabilitation process before partaking in any physical activity. Moreno is out injured after hurting himself during practice on Tuesday.
