New York Red Bulls predicted lineup vs DC United - MLS
- Red Bulls toppled New England Revolution 4-2 at the weekend to get back in the win column
- New York remain inside the top three of the Eastern Conference standings
- Sandro Schwarz could look to make a couple of changes after playing just a few days prior to their clash vs DC United
New York Red Bulls will have their sights set on their second-straight victory when they clash against DC United Wednesday evening.
The Red Bulls made amends with their supporters after their crushing 6-2 defeat at the hands of Inter Miami and Lionel Messi the previous weekend with a 4-2 triumph over New England Revolution. Lewis Morgan recorded a goal and an assist, while Emil Forsberg got in on the action as well to bring home the three points
The much-needed victory saw Red Bulls remain near the top of the Eastern Conference with 20 points collected as Sandro Schwarz's side sit in third place in the division behind FC Cincinnati and Miami. Schwarz will more than likely deploy his favored 4-4-2 formation once again this week in order to capture three important points on the road.
Here's how Red Bulls could lineup at Audi Field Wednesday night.
New York Red Bulls predicted lineup vs DC United ( 4-4-2 )
GK: Carlos Coronel - After a terrible outing against the Herons, Coronel rebounded with four saves against the Revs despite conceding twice.
RB: Dylan Nealis - Nealis gets the nod at right-back and keeps his place in the XI.
CB: Sean Nealis - The 27-year-old will have his hands full trying to limit Christian Benteke -- who is fresh off a hat trick against Atlanta United.
CB: Andres Reyes - With the young Noah Eile playing just about the full 90 over the weekend, Reyes slots into the backline to help Sean Nealis defend against Benteke.
LB: John Tolkin - The Red Bulls academy graduate holds down his side of the pitch.
RM: Wikelman Carmona - Carmona shined last time out with an assist vs the Revs and will look to replicate that performance Wednesday night.
CM: Frankie Amaya - The underrated midfielder didn't have the best of showing against New England but has the chance to turn it around against DC United.
CM: Daniel Edelman - The 21-year-old is coming off one of his strongest performances of the season in which he bossed the midfield in his side's win over New England.
LM: Emil Forsberg - Forsberg continues to lead by example for RBNY, finding the back of the net over the weekend against the Revs.
ST: Elias Manoel - Schwarz could give Dante Vanzeir a rest and hand Elias Manoel a start up front alongside Morgan.
ST: Lewis Morgan - One of the league's most in-form players will have his sights set on scoring his ninth goal of the campaign vs DC.
