- Cherries are seven points off the Premier League top half
By Euan Burns
Newcastle will continue their tough fight for Champions League football on Saturday with a home game against a talented Bournemouth side that is fighting for a Premier League top-half finish.
Eddie Howe's side have not had a great season compared to the one before, but that is part of developing into the kind of team that can consistently finish in the top four. They have won two and drawn the other of their last three league games so there is some form to work with.
As for Bournemouth, they have ended up having a much better season than anyone expected and they are an outside bet for a place in the top half. It would take a strong finish for it to happen, and they'll need to win some games like this one away at Newcastle.

Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson are close to making their return from injury and could be on the bench here, but Nick Pope, Matt Targett and Sandro Tonali will all be absent. Anthony Gordon is shaking off a knock, while Harvey Barnes is fighting to make his first start since September.

Newcastle vs Bournemouth score prediction
This is not the easiest match to call given both sides can be excellent on their day. Bournemouth did beat Newcastle in the earlier game this season, but their dip in Premier League form in 2024 means that they have to be viewed as the underdogs here.
Newcastle will be the more confident of the two sides and they do have the better squad, even with the injuries factored in. It will not be easy at all, but Newcastle should get all three points here.
