Njabulo Blom backed to succeed in MLS with St. Louis CITY SC by former head coach

New St. Louis CITY SC signing Njabulo Blom has been backed to 'take his game to another level' in MLS by his former Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Arthur Zwane.
Blom arrived for an undisclosed fee last week on a contract through the 2024 MLS season after three-and-a-half years with Kaizer Chiefs.
During that time, the midfielder notched eight assists in 94 appearances across all competitions, helping the club finish second in the South African top flight in 2019/20. At international level, Blom made his debut for South Africa in a World Cup qualifier against Ghana in September 2021.
With that sort of pedigree, Blom should be a regular starter for St. Louis - coached by fellow South African Bradley Carnell - and it's little surprise the 23-year-old went in search of a new challenge.
Blom's head coach at Kaizer Chiefs is certainly confident he can rise to the level of Major League Soccer.
“I’ve known Njabulo since he was 15 years old. He’s a hard-working player, a focused player. Given the opportunity, he grabbed it with both hands,” Zwane said, via The South African.
“We are glad he is going to another level, where he believes he will be taking his game to another level. It’s high time we, as a nation, export our players.
“Njabulo got the opportunity and we wish him well. We know he is going to represent the club well at his new team in America. We know he is not going to let us down."
