Norwich City predicted lineup vs Liverpool - Premier League
Dean Smith's improving Norwich City travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Aston Villa boss has recorded double the points per game tally of his predecessor Daniel Farke since replacing the German in November, earning half of the club's Premier League victories this term since the turn of the year.
Here's the XI Smith may deploy to continue Norwich's upward trajectory.
Norwich City predicted lineup vs Liverpool - Premier League
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Angus Gunn (GK) - The last Norwich City keeper to record a win or clean sheet against Liverpool was Gunn's father Bryan in 1994.
Max Aarons (RB) - Having been spared the final half-hour of an evening to forget against Manchester City last weekend, Aarons won't be treated to much dip in quality if he lines up against Liverpool.
Grant Hanley (CB) - The only own goal Hanley has scored in his last six seasons of league football was the first of the 2019/20 season, against Liverpool.
Ben Gibson (CB) - In all four career appearances against Liverpool, be it home or away for Middlesbrough or Norwich, Gibson has lost by the same 3-0 scoreline.
Brandon Williams (LB) - For a Mancunian, Manchester United loanee, any game against Liverpool surely carries an extra edge.
2. Midfielders
Billy Gilmour (CM) - A man of the match performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup two years ago launched Gilmour into the public consciousness. The young midfielder even wore Andy Robertson's match shirt from that game during lockdown kick-abouts in his back garden.
Pierre Lees Melou (CM) - A starter in each of Norwich's last six Premier League matches, the former Nice midfielder does have more yellow cards (four) than wins (three) this term.
Kenny McLean (CM) - The only match the Scotland international was available for but overlooked was the season-opener against Liverpool.
3. Forwards
Josh Sargent (RW) - The only league goals Sargent has scored for Norwich came in the club's last away game - though that was against a slightly different calibre of opposition to Liverpool however.
Teemu Pukki (ST) - The only Norwich player in the last six years to score against Liverpool (found the net in a 4-1 defeat in 2019).
Milot Rashica (LW) - Norwich have collected 14 points from Rashica's 13 league starts this season compared to three in the 11 he has been left out of from the off.
