The Paris Saint-Germain Lineup That Should Start Against Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain play the biggest game in their club's 50-year history when they meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League final this Sunday.

After years of poor performances in the latter stages of the competition despite unrivalled transfer market spending, Les Parisiens have finally found a route to the final in the competition's makeshift, one leg knockout-style tournament. The catch? They have to play the strongest Bayern Munich side that's been assembled in years.

Bayern embarrassed Barcelona with an astounding 8-2 victory in the quarter finals and look virtually unbeatable, meaning Thomas Tuchel's side will have a serious job on their hands if they want to win the Champions League on Sunday.

Here's how they should line up in order to achieve that...

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Keylor Navas (GK) - The Costa Rican is a doubt for the game, but is expected to pull through to replace Sergio Rico in goal.

Thilo Kehrer (RB) - A foot injury has severely interrupted the most of Kehrer's campaign, but he's started every Champions League game PSG have played since the restart and looked solid.

Thiago Silva (CB) - The leader at the back, Silva won't be departing PSG with an easy send off. He faces an incredibly tough 90 minutes against a Bayern attack; his side need him to be at the top of his game.

Presnel Kimpembe (CB) - Like Silva, Kimpembe has an incredibly difficult job in front of him. He's the man to deliver, however, and another good performance here will significantly boost his stock.

Juan Bernat (LB) - Bernat swapped Munich for Paris in 2018 and has been in fine form. He'll be itching to put in a match-winning performance to stop his former employers winning the tournament.

2. Midfielders

Marquinhos (DM) - A centre back by trade, Marquinhos is actually proving more effective as a holding midfielder. His presence will be needed on Sunday more than ever; off the ball he'll have to slot in and help nullify Bayern's attacking onslaught, while others do the attacking.

Marco Verratti (CM) - Despite not long recovering from an injury, Verratti must start the final for PSG. He was fit enough to make it off the bench against RB Leipzig, thus he's fit enough to start. Les Parisiens can't afford to leave out one of their best players.

Ander Herrera (CM) - Herrera will play a crucial role against Die Roten. Doing the dirty work and the heavy lifting, he's exactly the energised midfielder a side needs in such a big game. He completes a well balanced midfield three.

3. Forwards

Angel Di Maria (RW) - Di Maria has been back to his best since moving to PSG after a forgettable season with Manchester United. His role in the squad is vital in keeping Neymar and Kylian Mbappe free. He's tasted Champions League success with Real Madrid in 2014/15, and could do so with PSG if all goes to plan.

Neymar (ST) - The likelihood is that the front three of Thomas Tuchel's side will do a lot of swapping and switching, but as long as Neymar is able to focus completely on attacking, he could be the game changer. It's time for the Brazilian to win PSG a Champions League and justify his world record £200m fee.

Kylian Mbappe (LW) - Mbappe, Neymar and Di Maria won't make it easy for Bayern, whose defence is arguably the weak link in their side. Get Mbappe in behind the press and PSG are onto a winner.
