Inter visit eighth-placed Parma on Sunday evening as they look to make up for lost ground in the race for the Scudetto.

Before football was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, Inter looked to have blown their chances of winning the Serie A title, having lost to fellow contenders Lazio and Juventus.

The two defeats has left Antonio Conte's side slumped in third place, eight points adrift of leaders Juventus. Since the break things haven't gone much better for I Nerrazzuri, who shockingly dropped points at home to Sassuolo in midweek.

Parma, meanwhile, sit eighth and remain level on points with Inter's rivals AC Milan, who occupy seventh. A win for them could see them leapfrog Milan depending on results, which would be a continuation to their impressive season thus far.

Inter will be without Milan Skriniar, who is suspended for three games after being sent off against Sassuolo in their midweek fixture. Also serving a suspension is Antonio Conte himself, after being booked in the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo.

Lautaro Martinez missed out in the midweek madness, but looks set to return to the starting lineup this weekend. Diego Godin or Stefan de Vrij are the likely candidates to step in for Skriniar, with both being on the bench on Wednesday evening.

I Nerazzuri will still be without Marcelo Brosovic, Matias Vecino and Stefano Sensi, who all remain injured.

Parma will be without veteran defender Simone Iacaponi, who also serves a suspension. Alberto Grassi, Roberto Inglese and Luca Siligardi have all been struggling with injury, but could be available.

Prediction

As impressive a season as it looks to be for Parma, the stakes are much higher for Inter, who cannot afford any more slip ups in their bid for the Scudetto.

Dropping points at home in the midweek in such disappointing fashion was poor and Parma won't make it easy for their visitors as a result, who will have to be on top form.

However, with the previous result behind them and the stakes so high, Inter will likely get back to winning ways on Sunday evening.
