Pedro Gallese signs new Orlando City contract through 2024 MLS season

Orlando City have taken a big step in their winter preparations with the signing of goalkeeper Pedro Gallese to a new contract.
Gallese's new deal keeps him at Exploria Stadium through the 2024 MLS season with an option for 2025, having been out of contract following the 2022 campaign.
The Peru international has been an unquestioned starter for Orlando since arriving from now-dissolved Mexican side Veracruz in 2020. Since then, he's made 83 appearances across all competitions, keeping 21 clean sheets, while helping the Lions win the 2022 US Open Cup.
“Pedro has been an important part of our club’s success over his three years in Orlando and we’re very excited to agree to a deal that will see him remain with us for the foreseeable future,” Luiz Muzzi, Orlando's executive vice president of soccer operations and general manager, said in an official club release.
“We believe he is one of the most talented goalkeepers, not only in our league, but in the world and we are happy to have him representing our club, our city and our fans.”
Aside from helping Orlando City to their first MLS-era trophy, Gallese has picked up multiple individual honors, winning the 2022 MLS Save of the Year award and being named to the All-Star team in 2021. Gallese has helped the Lions to the MLS Cup Playoffs in each of his three seasons at the club so far.
At international level, Gallese - widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in MLS - has 93 caps to his name for Peru, representing his nation at the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Copa America - reaching the final of the latter.
