Ona Batlle was massively influential again for Manchester United in February as the Red Devils climbed to the top of the WSL table.

The Spaniard was tasked with keeping an eye on the impressive Jess Park for the visit of Everton at the start of the month, but was herself such an attacking danger that the Toffees switched things up to contain her.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where United ground out an important win, Batlle was one of the most threatening attacking outlets.

2. Kirsty Hanson (Aston Villa)

Kirsty Hanson is a player with a point to prove in 2022/23 after falling down the pecking order at Manchester United last season. But her form for Aston Villa, particularly in 2023, is reminding people of her quality.

Villa went unbeaten in back-to-back games against Brighton in February, consolidating their place in the top half of the WSL.

Hanson was creative in the 1-1 draw at home, but was later completely on fire as Villa won 6-2 on the road and had a direct hand in four of her team's goals - including a hat-trick of assists.

3. Lauren Hemp (Man City)

Lauren Hemp helped Manchester City take maximum points from their two games in February, including a momentous win over Arsenal that could yet prove decisive in the top three race come May.

Hemp scored City's early opener against the Gunners and was an attacking livewire throughout the important contest.

The England winger had also been a source of much creativity in the 2-0 win over Leicester with seven shot and six chances created.

4. Chloe Kelly (Man City)

When Manchester City got their statement win against Arsenal in February, Chloe Kelly had a direct hand in both goals.

England's Euro 2022 hero set up the early opener for Lauren Hemp, before scoring the decisive second in the 2-1 win herself. As already mentioned it could be a pivotal game in City's entire WSL season.

Against Leicester at the start of February, Kelly found the net as the game entered the final stages to wrap up victory in what had been a tricky clash.

5. Janina Leitzig (Leicester)

Thre reason Manchester City had such trouble seeing off Leicester was the presence of goalkeeper Janina Leitzig, who is already making a huge impact for the Foxes since joining on loan from Bayern Munich in January.

Leitzig kept City at bay for more than an hour and incredibly made 15 saves across the 90 minutes.

There was no positive result for her team that time, but it did follow when the German stopper kept a clean sheet in a tense game against Liverpool in which the Reds had dominated the ball.

6. Khadija Shaw (Man City)

Khadija Shaw has been consistently nominated PFA Vertu Motors WSL Fans' Player of the Month all season and is the current holder of the award following her win for January.

The Manchester City striker's output remained high and impactful in February as her team won twice again to keep the pressure on the rest of the league's big clubs.

Shaw scored the eventual breakthrough against a stubborn Leicester, before playing a vital role against Arsenal when she set up Chloe Kelly's killer second goal just before half-time.
