90min is the home of the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month Award for the 2021/22 & 2022/23 seasons.

Each month, you can vote for your favourite players across five divisions of English football, for the chance to win incredible prizes, including the opportunity to present the award to the winning player.

Your WSL nominees for September are...

Appearances: 3
Goals: 2
Assists: 2

Fran Kirby didn't start Chelsea's opening game of the season against Arsenal, which ended in defeat. But she more than made up for that in remainder of September, powering the Blues to back-to-back wins by providing four goal contributions in just two further appearances.

Overall, the England star created 12 chances in the WSL in September, making her the league's most creative player by some distance.

2. Kim Little (Arsenal)

Appearances: 3
Goals: 2
Assists: 0

Arsenal maestro Kim Little has been at her sparkling best at the beginning of the 2021/22 season. Her quick feet make her close to impossible for defenders to get near and that was particularly obvious against Manchester City when the Gunners won 5-0 against a title rival.

The former Scotland international has been there and done it all before in the WSL, but she looks as hungry as ever.

3. Beth Mead (Arsenal)

Appearances: 3
Goals: 3
Assists: 3

Three goals and three assists from Beth Mead in September, an average of two per game, are a huge reason why Arsenal are flying as high as they are.

Either side of a two goals and an assist against Reading, the forward scored a decisive brace in Arsenal's opening day win over reigning champions Chelsea. She also set up the first goal to get the ball rolling in the 5-0 demolition of Manchester City to finish September.

4. Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal)

Appearances: 3
Goals: 4
Assists: 2

The prolific Vivianne Miedema scored Arsenal's first goal in both their win over Chelsea and against Manchester City, drawing first blood for the Gunners and proving her ability to perform in the biggest games.

The Dutch international also assisted crucial goals in each of those Arsenal victories, further underlining that she is about so much more than scoring goals of her own.

5. Leah Williamson (Arsenal)

Appearances: 3
Clean sheets: 2

There is a feeling this season more than ever that 24-year-old Leah Williamson is stepping up as a senior leader for Arsenal.

Although there was no clean sheet to go with it, her defending was crucial in preserving the Gunners' lead in the 3-2 win over Chelsea. The quality has also been there for all to see in the subsequent September wins against Reading and Manchester City with back-to-back clean sheets.

6. Shelina Zadorsky (Tottenham)

Tottenham captain Shelina Zadorsky returned from winning an Olympic gold medal with Canada in the summer and has immediately translated that form into some stellar WSL performances.

Spurs exceeded expectations in September, enjoying three wins from three during the month. Zadorsky led the defence to two clean sheets either side of limiting Manchester City to a single goal in an unexpected 2-1 win.
