10. Marseille (new entry)

Marseille are now just five points adrift of Paris Saint-Germain at the top of Ligue 1 for two reasons:

1. PSG are imploding.
2. Marseille are unbeaten in their last eight league games.

Jack: "I think this is the first time Marseille have ever been in the Power Rankings."

9. Real Sociedad (new entry)

David Silva was once again, despite being 10000 years old, at his brilliant best against Real Madrid recently.

In putting in a storming performance, Silva helped Real Socieded bag a win that's all-but-secured their place in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Sean: "Real Sociedad were full of energy, but the one leading the charge and making them tick was David Silva. He was giving Toni Kroos the runaround."

8. Arsenal (-)

The Gunners badly needed a win after a run of four games without one this week.

Thankfully for Mikel Arteta and co, the fixture list was as kind as it could be, serving up a woeful Chelsea team to dispatch of.

Sean: "Arsenal at least did their job, if they didn't beat Chelsea then their season could have unravelled, become quite sour and toxic."

7. Atletico Madrid (re-entry)

When was the last time a Diego Simeone side scored 10 goals in two games?

Probably never.

That is until Atleti put five past Real Valladolid and Cadiz this past week to leapfrog rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga table. Nice one.

Jack: "Matt Doherty came on - four minutes of football and a WhoScored rating of 5.98, which I like to believe is out of six."

6. AC Milan (down 4)

After a brilliant few weeks, Milan's season took a rather worrying turn in recent days.

Two draws in two games has meant that I Rossoneri have dropped out of the Serie A top four.

Jack: "We were quite impressed with their performance at AS Roma, and then they followed it up with a draw against Cremonense, just two points against them all season."

5. Borussia Dortmund (down 2)

Down two this week after a rather disastrous 1-1 draw with Bochum which has seen BVB drop off top spot in the Bundesliga.

They were quite unfortunate however as they were subjected to an all-time terrible refereeing performance during the game.

Sean:
"Dortmund should have had a stonewall penalty in stoppage time...and the DFB Referee Committee wrote to them saying that was an error. It could cost them the title."

4. Newcastle United (up 1)

The Magpies are continuing to show that they mean business in recent week, and that's largely thanks to the wonderful form of Callum Wilson.

The striker has scored five in his last three games as Newcastle have taken a stranglehold on third place in the Premier League table.

Jack:
"They only beat Southampton, that's not that impressive, but it feels like that's a game you could slip up in, a lot of other top six teams have."

3. Barcelona (re-entry)

Back in the rankings and right on the brink of securing their first La Liga title in four years.

Barcelona have simply got the job done in recent weeks against teams they should be beating, and if they do the same in their next game they'll be Spanish champions once again.

Sean: "They toyed with Real Betis, they were able to bring on Lamine Yamal as their youngest ever La Liga player."

2. Inter (up 5)

Inter are finally starting to show the form that's got them to the UEFA Champions League semi finals and the Coppa Italia final in Serie A too, winning their last three games on the trot.

The most impressive win during this run was their come-from-behind victory over second-placed Lazio at San Siro.

Jack: "They're hitting form at just the right time."

1. Manchester City (-)

Still at number one, obviously, is Manchester City.

The Citizens have now won their last eight Premier League games on the spin, have knocked Arsenal off top spot, are in the UEFA Champions League semi finals, and the FA Cup final.

They are, quite simply, too good.

Jack: "If Man City win the treble, is there a world where Pep Guardiola walks?"
