Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for September 2023.

The South Korea international was in dazzling form throughout September, chipping in with a huge six goals in just four games.

A hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Burnley kicked the month off for Son, who went goalless against Sheffield United before ending September on a high with two goals against Arsenal and a strike against Liverpool for good measure.

Spurs teammate James Maddison won the award last month and Son's triumph continues the team's streak this season.

This is the fourth time that Son has been named the Premier League Player of the Month, with only six players ever getting their hands on the prize more.

"I only think about how I can help the team. When I do things that are necessary for the team, then I can gain a few things for myself," Son said recently. "And I also want to make up for last season and show fans what I didn't get to show them last year. I try to entertain football fans in every moment."

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou recently confessed that his faith in Son's goalscoring helped convince him not to sign a replacement for Harry Kane.

"It’s not exactly why, but it’s one of the reasons," he said. "I’ve got a picture in my head of what I want the team to look like and I keep saying that we’re still at the beginning.

"Sonny, whether he’s playing central or wide, has got all the characteristics. He can play in any system, but the way we play, he’s ideal."
