Sunday's fixtures in the Premier League are the last before fans say goodbye to club football for a couple of weeks as the international break looms.
The teams will need to provide some serious entertainment, then, and there is a very, very good chance they will do just that. As far as four matches on a Sunday goes, this is a pretty special set in the Premier League with Arsenal hosting Manchester City, Liverpool going away to Brighton and a West Midlands derby on the way.
If that wasn't enough, there is a very intriguing contest between high-flying Newcastle and a very solid West Ham in east London to enjoy.
Here's all you need to know about the four fixtures coming up in the Premier League on Sunday.
Premier League fixtures today - Sunday 8 October
Brighton vs Liverpool
- Location: Brighton, England
- Stadium: AMEX Stadium
- Date: Sunday 8 October
- Kick-off Time: 14:00 BST / 09:00 ET / 06:00 PT
- Referee: Anthony Taylor
- VAR: Chris Kavanagh
This could really go either way. Brighton have become an incredibly hard team to predict given they can look like genuine title contenders one week and then lose 6-1 to Aston Villa the next.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have been the centre of attention all week after the VAR controversy that became the primary focus of their defeat against Tottenham. If ever there was a time when Jurgen Klopp's side feel it is them against the world, it's now. Brighton are in a vulnerable position, and Liverpool are wound up.
The Reds will be without the injured Cody Gakpo and the suspended duo of Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota, though.

West Ham vs Newcastle
- Location: London, England
- Stadium: London Stadium
- Date: Sunday 8 October
- Kick-off Time: 14:00 BST / 09:00 ET / 06:00 PT
- Referee: Peter Bankes
- VAR: Andy Madley
This may not be as easy a game to call as some would expect. We've all seen it happen before; a team has a wonderful performance and result in Europe midweek and then gets the basics wrong in the following Premier League fixture and drops points.
Perhaps Newcastle are too good for that right now, but heading away to West Ham soon after the huge effort against Paris Saint-Germain is no easy thing and David Moyes will be well aware there is an opportunity to exploit any tiredness or missing concentration in Eddie Howe's team.

Wolves vs Aston Villa
- Location: Wolverhampton, England
- Stadium: Molineux Stadium
- Date: Sunday 8 October
- Kick-off Time: 14:00 BST / 09:00 ET / 06:00 PT
- Referee: Rob Jones
- VAR: David Coote
As far as local derbies in the Premier League go, this one can very easily disappear under the radar just due to the size of the two clubs involved. That doesn't mean it isn't always a great occasion and one to make time for, however.
Both teams come into this one feeling extremely confident after their last league games. Aston Villa, as previously mentioned, stuck six past Brighton and showed just how good they can be. Wolves, meanwhile, became the first team in the league to beat Manchester City.
It promises to be a real cracker at Molineux on Sunday.

Arsenal vs Manchester City
- Location: London, England
- Stadium: Emirates Stadium
- Date: Sunday 8 October
- Kick-off Time: 16:30 BST / 11:30 ET / 08:30 PT
- Referee: Michael Oliver
- VAR: John Brooks
The big game of the weekend and one of the biggest of the season. If Arsenal were to lose this game, it would not be curtains for their Premier League title challenge, but a four-point gap to make up on Man City is hardly a fun prospect, either.
City's loss to Wolves shows many unexpected things can and will happen in this long season but the onus will be on Arsenal as the home team and the title challengers to attack and get all three points.
They should be wary, though, as Man City will play much better than they did against Wolves, even if they are still without key midfielder Rodri.
