Premier League goals of the week: Gameweek 18
By Tom Gott
The Premier League is coming thick and fast these days. Gameweek 17 only finished the other day and round 19 starts on Monday, giving us very little time to digest the events of the 18th batch of fixtures.
If you're a fan of Chelsea, Man City or Tottenham, that just might be a good thing.
There were some massive results in gameweek 18, and here are the best goals from the ten games on offer.
Best Premier League goals of the week
1. Josh Dasilva vs West Ham
Josh Dasilva went full Road Runner as he meep meep-ed his way through the West Ham defence en route to slotting home Brentford's second in a 2-0 victory.
The 24-year-old former Arsenal youngster now has three goals for the season and truly looks back to his best after a nasty hip injury.
2. Marcus Rashford vs Wolves
Can anything stop Marcus Rashford? Apart from a particularly comfortable pillow, of course.
The sleepy Man Utd star came off the bench to bulldoze his way to the Wolves goal and continue his rich vein of scoring form.
3. Ebere Eze vs Bournemouth
There's just something special about a corner routine that results in a goal from the edge of the box.
Ebere Eze clearly knows that as he bent home this glorious strike to fire Crystal Palace to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Bournemouth.
4. James Ward-Prowse vs Fulham
Name a better duo than James Ward-Prowse and free-kicks, I'll wait.
He's now buried 15 in the Premier League, just three behind David Beckham's all-time record of 18. Knowing Ward-Prowse, that'll be his record in a week or two.
5. Demarai Gray vs Man City
It usually takes a bit of magic to score against Manchester City and that's exactly what Demarai Gray conjured up here.
The Everton winger looked to have hit a wall as he made it into the City box and almost lost his footing, but Gray wasn't prepared to let this chance die as he unleashed an absolute corker of a finish which soared beyond Ederson and into the back of the net.
6. Martin Odegaard vs Brighton
It might have been a deflection, but who cares? This strike from Martin Odegaard in Arsenal's 4-2 thumping of Brighton was beautiful.
Hooking the ball back across goal on the half-volley, Odegaard offered up another piece of evidence as to why he could be the best player in the Premier League right now.
7. Douglas Luiz vs Tottenham
A delightful finish from Douglas Luiz, but what a pass this is from John McGinn.
Aston Villa were a class above Tottenham in this one, and this goal is all the proof you need of that.
8. Serge Aurier vs Chelsea
Serge Aurier was definitely a right-back when he left England in 2021, but it appears as though he's come back as a prolific striker if his equaliser in Nottingham Forest's 1-1 draw with Chelsea is anything to go by.
Chesting the ball down, the Ivorian connected with an excellent volley before any Chelsea could react as he fired home the goal Forest's play truly deserved.
