Premier League Player of the Month Shortlist for November Revealed
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes, Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish and Tottenham midfield general Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are the leading names nominated for November’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
They are joined on the six-man shortlist by Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell, West Ham centre-back Angelo Ogbonna and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
Fernandes scored four goals across three consecutive matches for Manchester United in November, helping his team win back-to-back games for the first time this season. That included a direct role in all three goals United scored in a 3-1 victory over Everton.
Grealish, meanwhile, remains in star form and was unfortunate to be on the losing side three times out of four in the Premier League in November. He scored twice and got three assists across the four games and was outstanding as Aston Villa beat Arsenal in their only win.
Hojbjerg proved himself during November to be masterstroke in the transfer market for Tottenham, with the Denmark international a key reason why Jose Mourinho’s team were unbeaten in four games and have risen to the top of the Premier League table.
Chilwell continued to find his feet with Chelsea in November, scoring in a handsome win over Sheffield United and part of a previously leaky defence that kept back-to-back clean sheets in games against Newcastle and Tottenham.
The performances of Ogbonna in November have seen West Ham surge into the top half of the Premier League table. The Italian centre-back was involved in successive clean sheets against Fulham and Sheffield United, before also scoring in a 2-1 win against Aston Villa.
Ward-Prowse helped Southampton march on in November. He scored twice and got an assist in a 4-3 win over Aston Villa, as well as contributing to important results against Newcastle and Wolves. He was also directly responsible for the Saints leading 2-0 against Manchester United.
