West Ham's key fixtures in Premier League relegation battle
This was meant to be the season West Ham pushed on. After finishing seventh in the Premier League and enjoying an unforgettable Europa League campaign, David Moyes' Hammers were able to attract the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca to east London in the summer.
With Declan Rice retained and their squad bolstered, West Ham were seemingly primed for another prosperous campaign. But instead, the ghosts of previous eras have manifested once again. The Irons have endured a miserable domestic season and the prospect of relegation cannot be ruled out.
They're flirting with danger at the bottom of the table, and here's what West Ham's Premier League schedule looks like to close out the campaign.

West Ham vs Southampton
Man City's ventures in the FA Cup means we won't see West Ham in action again until after the international break. And boy, what a big one they've got to return with.
Southampton at home? Talk about must-win. The Hammers have come up with the goods in crunch encounters against Everton and Nottingham Forest on home soil in recent weeks, and they must provide again to begin April.

West Ham follow their match against the Saints with three tricky contests against sides currently in the top eight. Thus, they may well head into the contest away at Bournemouth having not enjoyed the most productive of Aprils.
The Cherries have exceeded expectations this term and have a legitimate shot of survival. They're scrappers, and this will be a dogfight on the south coast.

West Ham vs Leeds
May begins with a tough visit to Brentford and a home game against Man Utd before West Ham host Leeds at the London Stadium on the penultimate matchday of the campaign.
Leeds have opted to switch managers in hope of remaining in the top flight, and there's no doubt they have the talent to stay up. West Ham supporters, meanwhile, will want their side's fate secured long before the final two games of the season, but the club's exploits in Europe renders that tricky.

While West Ham have struggled to find any real rhythm this term, Leicester have embarked on similar peaks and troughs. The Foxes have lost their last four and are trending towards the drop. Still, there's hope both teams will figure it out before the final day.

Sunday's draw at home to Aston Villa means they're barely keeping their necks above water. West Ham currently sit 17th in the table and are avoiding the relegation zone due to their superior goal difference over Bournemouth.
