Premier League team of the week: Gameweek 2
The Premier League returned for its second gameweek and treated fans to another weekend of fabulous goals, action and drama.
Manchester City and Arsenal have perfect records from their opening two games, while Chelsea and Tottenham stole the show in a chaotic London derby on Sunday.
Here's 90min's team of the week for gameweek 2.
1. GK: Dean Henderson (Nottingham Forest)
Nottingham Forest's return to the Premier League demanded a massive defensive effort from Steve Cooper's side, and that's exactly what they delivered.
Henderson was a rock between the sticks and impressively kept out Declan Rice's penalty to get Forest up and running after their defeat on the opening weekend.
2. RB: Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest)
Henderson wasn't the only Forest man to shine this weekend as right-back Neco Williams made a major impression.
The former Liverpool youngster was a creative force down the right but did not abandon his defensive duties either, battling hard to earn his side a clean sheet.
3. CB: Reece James (Chelsea)
Thomas Tuchel's decision to drop James into his back three effectively nullified much of Tottenham's attacking threat, even if Chelsea couldn't secure the win.
James was rarely in trouble and produced a fine finish to put the Blues 2-1 up.
4. CB: Ben Mee (Brentford)
Even Ben Mee is scoring against Manchester United these days. It's a real sign of the times.
In just his second game for Brentford, the former Burnley defender kept a clean sheet on a memorable evening for Thomas Frank's side.
5. LB: Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace)
A number of Crystal Palace's defenders could make it in here as reward for their battling performance at Liverpool.
Mitchell gets the nod for effectively dealing with danger man Mohamed Salah, making three tackles in total.
6. CM: Mathias Jensen (Brentford)
There were a number of key figures in Brentford's triumph on Saturday, but none more so than Jensen.
The Dane emerged from Christian Eriksen's shadow to deliver a fabulous performance, scoring and assisting in the 4-0 win.
7. CM: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
Bournemouth's first away day of the campaign involved keeping both Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland quiet. They got one but couldn't silence De Bruyne, who ran the show at the Etihad.
The Belgian converted Phil Foden's pass to make it 2-0 before returning the favour for his teammate with an assist.
8. AM: Rodrigo (Leeds)
Rodrigo has hit the ground running this term and netted a brace against Southampton to take his tally up to three.
The Spaniard is United's biggest goal threat right now and was electric at St Mary's, despite Leeds' collapse from 2-0 up.
9. RW: Josh Dasilva (Brentford)
Dasilva only managed nine league appearances last season but is enjoying a proper taste of Barclays in August, already scoring twice in the first two games.
His energy helped the Bees to a fast start, though his goal was essentially thrown into his own net by Man Utd goalkeeper David de Gea.
10. ST: Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)
Arsenal signing Jesus may well go down as the best bit of summer business a Premier League club does this year.
The Brazilian has made the Gunners a much more dangerous outfit and netted his first official goal for the club with a floated curler against Leicester. He grabbed another before setting up both Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli.
11. LW: Luis Diaz (Liverpool)
Liverpool gave themselves a mountain to climb with Darwin Nunez's red card, but Diaz's intensity and drive ensured they didn't fall off the clifftop.
The Colombian charged from out wide to smash in a brilliant equaliser and looked as likely as anyone else to snare a winner.
