The Premier League was back on Saturday and Sunday, treating fans to more great action.

Liverpool dominated the headlines by scoring nine (!) goals against Bournemouth, while Manchester City won 4-2 against Crystal Palace after initially going two goals down at the Etihad.

Manchester United made it two consecutive wins, while there were finally some points for West Ham and another victory each for Arsenal and Spurs.

Here's 90min's team of the week.

1. GK: Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)

There were clean sheets in the Premier League over the weekend, but no goalkeeper made more valuable contributions to a win than Chelsea's Edouard Mendy, despite conceding.

The Senegal international made a vital save at both 0-0 to keep his team, down to 10 players, in the game, and then at 2-1 to preserve the lead.

2. RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Trent Alexander-Arnold was back to his best as Liverpool cruised to their record-equalling win. This was a masterclass in how to be an attacking modern full-back.

He scored a stunning goal of his own and also created the Bournemouth own goal scored by Chris Mepham.

3. CB: Armel Bella-Kotchap (Southampton)

It didn't reflect his performance that Armel Bella-Kotchap ended up on the losing side against Manchester United on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Frenchman made a huge block to stop Southampton going behind in the first half and his efforts deserved more from the game.

4. CB: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)

It could have been a difficult afternoon for Virgil van Dijk against Bournemouth target man Kieffer Moore. But he rose to the challenge and it ended up being more about what he could do with the ball than defensively.

The towering Dutchman came away with a goal of his own too.

5. LB: Marc Cucurella (Chelsea)

Marc Cucurella got better as Chelsea's win over Leicester progressed, particularly stepping things up after the Blues were reduced to 10 players.

Having arguably contributed to Conor Gallagher getting sent off with a poor pass, he made his trademark marauding runs throughout the second half.

6. CM: Ruben Neves (Wolves)

Ruben Neves scored a stunning goal against Newcastle as Wolves picked up only their second Premier League point of the season.

The quality of his passing was top notch and he was always looking to move the ball forward into the final third of the pitch for his team.

7. CM: Bernardo Silva (Man City)

It has been clear for some time that Bernardo Silva would like to leave Manchester City and join Barcelona. But it hasn't diluted the quality of his performances since returning to the starting XI in gameweek 3.

Silva found the net for the second Premier League game in a row that kickstarted City's comeback win.

8. RW: Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)

Raheem Sterling actually played more centrally for Chelsea against Leicester, but he needed to find his way into this Team of the Week.

The England star showed his clinical, scoring his first Chelsea goal and then going on to bag his second that proved decisive in the 2-1 score-line.

9. AM: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

Darwin who? Plenty of people though that Darwin Nunez's summer arrival might be the end of Roberto Firmino. But with the new guy suspended, the old favourite rolled back the years this weekend.

Firmino scored twice, racked up a hat-trick of assists and came off with more than 20 minutes left because the job was done.

10. LW: Luis Diaz (Liverpool)

Luis Diaz started and finished the 9-0 rout for Liverpool, netting just three minutes into the contest and then rounding things off with five minutes left.

Given that he started off on fire when he first arrived in January, it is frightening that the Colombian is becoming even more natural.

11. ST: Erling Haaland (Man City)

Four games into his debut Premier League season and Erling Haaland already has six goals to his name, including his first hat-trick from Saturday's win over Crystal Palace.

It was a typical 'number nine' performance from the 22-year-old, who only touched the ball 16 times and scored two of his goals in the six-yard box.
