The PSG Lineup That Should Start Against Atalanta
By George Cannon

Paris Saint-Germain continue their quest for Champions League glory on Wednesday night against an in-from Atalanta.
The French giants have longed for European success ever since their takeover by Qatari Sports Investment back in 2011 but have so far failed to produce on the biggest of stages.

The Parisians haven't actually reached the semi-finals of Europe's most illustrious competition since 1995, falling at the quarter-final stage on five occasions since they became one of the richest clubs on the continent. Many see this season as their best opportunity yet to get their hands on the trophy with the big ears after being drawn on the comparatively 'easy' side of the draw.
PSG completed a domestic treble recently but they have managed to avoid the rest of Europe's usual big hitters. Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City are all unable to take shots at Thomas Tuchel's side until a potential showdown in the final.
Here's how they should lineup on Wednesday night.
1. Goalkeepers and Defenders
Keylor Navas (GK) - The former Real Madrid shot-stopper is extremely experienced in the Champions League, winning three consecutive titles with Los Blancos between 2016 and 2018.
Thilo Kehrer (RB) - Following the departure of Thomas Meunier to Borussia Dortmund, 23-year-old Kehrer will almost certainly start for what is arguably the biggest game of his fledgling career.
Thiago Silva (CB) - Silva was one of PSG's first big-money buys after their takeover and it was hoped he'd be a key figure in securing European success. Things haven't quite gone to plan for the Brazilian though and with his contract set to expire at the end of the tournament, he'll want to leave on a high.
Presnel Kimpembe (CB) - The academy graduate has struggled with injury problems throughout 2019/20 and has shared game time with Abdou Diallo, but Kimpembe usually gets the nod in Champions League fixtures.
Juan Bernat (LB) - Bernat has become a serial winner during his time with Bayern Munich and now PSG. The Spaniard usually plays ahead of Layvin Kurzawa in the bigger games.
2. Midfielders
Marquinhos (DM) - Former central defender Marquinhos has been converted into a holding midfielder under Thomas Tuchel. It had been a problem position for the French side ever since Thiago Motta retired but some innovative thinking from their German coach appears to have solved the issue.
Idrissa Gueye (CM) - Gueye has done well since his £29m move from Everton last summer. The Senegal international should provide some stability in the centre of the park, allowing PSG's more flamboyant players to shine.
Ander Herrera (CM) - Marco Verratti's injury means there's a place up for grabs in midfield. The former Manchester United man may get the nod ahead of Leandro Paredes as a sign of caution regarding Atalanta's free-scoring nature.
3. Forwards
Pablo Sarabia (RW) - Angel Di Maria's suspension means former Sevilla winger Sarabia will most likely start in the Argentine's place. He's had a strong first season in France, bagging 14 goals and eight assists in all competitions, but this will be his biggest test yet.
Mauro Icardi (ST) - PSG have made his loan move from Inter permanent and shown Edinson Cavani the door. Now it's time for Icardi to repay the faith and deliver what the Uruguayan couldn't.
Neymar (LW) - Neymar is fully fit, unlike his teammate Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has returned to training but is unlikely to play any part in the mid-week encounter, meaning all eyes will be on PSG's record signing.
