PSG Sack Thomas Tuchel After Underwhelming Start to 2020/21 Season

Paris Saint-Germain have decided to sack manager Thomas Tuchel after his side's underwhelming start to the season, according to various reports.
The defending Ligue 1 champions have endured an underwhelming start to the current season, losing four of their 17 games in the competition this year - more than they suffered in the entirety of last season's truncated campaign - and they currently sit third in the table.
A run of just three wins from the last seven games increased the pressure on Tuchel, who is expected to win every trophy available to the French side, and according to BILD, PSG have decided to call time on the German's tenure in Paris.
That was later backed up by Sky Germany's Max Bielefeld, who revealed that Tuchel was informed of the decision late on Wednesday in a move which took most by surprise.
RMC Sport's Mohamed Bouhafsi later added that Mauricio Pochettino has already been lined up as Tuchel's successor, while Christian Falk adds that Tuchel already has his sights set on a Premier League job - with Manchester United and Arsenal named as potential landing spots.
The news comes as a shock as PSG are still just one point off top spot in Ligue 1 and they remain heavy favourites to win the title. They also navigated their way to the Champions League last 16, winning four of their six group stage games.
From a footballing perspective, to see Tuchel sacked would raise eyebrows, but there have been murmurs of discontent coming out of the Parc des Prices in recent days suggesting that all was not rosy in Paris.
He recently admitted to Sport1 that he struggled to keep star players like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe happy, adding that managing PSG is a unique experience, but that interview came with plenty of controversy.
Tuchel was quoted as saying that he felt more like 'a sports politician or sports minister than a coach' and he was 'sad and angry' not to have received more credit for his success in Paris - something he later came out and claimed to Canal+ (via Goal) was a misunderstanding during the interview.
There is yet to be any official confirmation of either PSG's decision or the logic behind their choice to sack Tuchel.
