Ralph Hasenhuttl Says He's 'At Home' at Southampton & Is Going Nowhere

Southampton have enjoyed a fantastic start to the 20/21 league season, picking up 16 points from eight games and reaching the Premier League summit for the first time. They have also done so by scoring an average of two goals per game - their second highest rate since the 1986/87 season.

The Saints' recent form has led to rumours linking manager Ralph Hasenhuttl with a move away from St. Mary's and to a bigger, 'top six' club.

However, the Austrian has waved away such talk and denies plans to go anywhere, saying he feels 'at home' on the south coast.

"With Martin Semmens, my chairman, I have someone by my side who supports me. We went through the time after Leicester together, and a trust grew there that I didn't know before in this business," he said, as quoted by Saints Marching.

"Here at the the club, I can move anything I want to move. I can act as I see fit. I can't think of a better job at the moment."

This trust has allowed him to gradually build a team that is now performing to his liking, and currently pushing for European football. And Hasenhuttl doesn't seem ready to stop there, as he is clearly thrilled to be at Southampton: "My wife and I feel very much at home here, we love southern England... And I can fully concentrate on football here, the work is great fun."

With the uncertain nature surrounding football at the present time, Southampton fans will be relieved and delighted in equal measure to hear that Hasenhuttl has no intention of departing St. Mary's.

They can look forward to the resumption of domestic football with his position secure, and a consistently performing squad looking to further upset the odds.

The Saints are back in action on Monday 23 November as they face a tricky trip to Wolves.
