The Real Madrid Lineup That Should Start Against Eibar
Real Madrid will look to pile the pressure on rivals Atletico Madrid at the top of the table when they take on Eibar this weekend.
A win at Eibar on Saturday night will mean five consecutive victories for Los Blancos as they search for their second consecutive league title.
Here is the team they could, and should, field against Eibar.
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Thibaut Courtois (GK): Courtois has recovered from his shaky start to the season and put in some decent performances of late
Dani Carvajal (RB): Real Madrid through and through, Dani Carvajal will keep his place at right-back as, when he plays, Los Blancos are a much, much better team.
Raphael Varane (CB): While he's a bit more error prone than he used to be, he's still a favourite of manager Zinedine Zidane's.
Sergio Ramos (CB): Fresh off being named in the FIFA FIFpro 11 for the 11th time overall, and 10th time in a row, Ramos will be leading from the back against Eibar. The Real Madrid skipper is one of the very best centre backs of all time.
Ferland Mendy (LB): Another one that seems to be a favourite of Zidane's and to his credit he has paid that back with some good performances this season.
2. Midfielders
Casemiro (CDM): Missed Real Madrid's last game due to suspension, but the midfielder will return to the side to provide some needed balance to this weekend.
Toni Kroos (CM): Another season where Kroos continues to pull the strings in midfield for Los Blancos. His importance in this team cannot be underestimated, from set-pieces to his controlling of the tempo, the German just oozes class.
Luka Modric (CM): Modric will come in to complete Zidane's favoured midfield three. Modric is another that's gone about his business quietly but brilliantly this season.
3. Forwards
Lucas Vazquez (RW): The ever-reliable Lucas Vazquez is another that will get the nod vs Eibar. What he lacks in terms of star quality, he makes up for in his desire to fight for Real Madrid - a trait that puts him ahead of the likes of Isco and Marco Asensio in the pecking order.
Vinicius Junior (LW): Still yet to convince everyone - mainly due to his inconsistent performances - but his technical quality cannot be doubted.
Karim Benzema (ST): Zidane called Benzema the best forward that France has produced after his brace on Tuesday night. An all-time great no doubt about it.
