Karim Benzema's decision to switch the Spanish capital for a fresh Saudi adventure totally stunned the Real Madrid hierarchy.

The Frenchman's exit signalled a new dawn at Madrid and the club hoped Kylian Mbappe would be the man to spearhead it. However, with the superstar forward remaining in Paris, that burden has fallen on the supreme shoulders of Jude Bellingham, who has taken to life at the Bernabeu like a fish to water.

Madrid's season so far has been all about the Englishman, whose unwavering momentum at his new home has only been disrupted by the September international break. He's one of 12 Madrid stars who'll be representing their national teams this month and here's how you can catch them in action.

New Real Madrid skipper Nacho Fernandez hasn't earned the call-up to Luis de la Fuente's squad, but three other Los Blancos stars did get the nod. Dani Carvajal is poised for two starts against Georgia and Cyprus with Jesus Navas missing from the squad, while Joselu is a certainty to earn minutes given his impressive scoring record with the national team as of late.

Loan signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, meanwhile, might endure two games on the sidelines with Unai Simon regarded as Spain's number one.

Spain have a couple of imperative September fixtures after they were beaten by Scotland on Matchday 1 of Euro 2024 qualifying.

It hasn't been so tricky for Bellingham's England, who have won four from four and are primed to make next summer's tournament in Germany. Luka Modric and David Alaba, meanwhile, will be hoping to lead their respective nations to a pair of important qualifying victories this month.

Madrid's South American contingent has been drastically reduced following the injuries to Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao. Rodrygo will be carrying the load for Brazil, while Federico Valverde will once again feature for Uruguay. The start to CONMEBOL's 2026 World Cup qualifying, though, won't be aired live in the UK.

France's supreme talent can't be understated and Real Madrid's pair of midfield gems represent not only the future of Les Bleus' engine room, but also the here and now.

The pair started together in Didier Deschamps' pivot in France's last competitive fixture - a 1-0 win over Greece in June. The boss will undoubtedly experiment this month, with a friendly against Germany upcoming, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Madrid tandem start their qualifier against an improving Republic of Ireland side.

Irish viewers can catch their duel with France via various RTE channels, with Viaplay streaming both of France's September fixtures in the UK.

That's right, he's still going!

Modric has the knack of performing when it matters most for the national team and he came close to guiding Croatia to Nations League glory in the summer. His career is winding down and these surely must be two of his final few caps for his country as they take on Latvia and Armenia.

Perhaps he'll bow out after the Euros next summer? Two victories for Modric's men this month will leave them in a strong position in a tightly-packed Group D.

Austria's squad is packed with talent with Madrid's Alaba leading the way. However, they've so often disappointed at crunch time.

The versatile defender, who's typically deployed in midfield for the national team, will hope things turn out a little differently this time around. Austria have started their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign in fine form, collecting ten points from four games, and they'll be expected to beat Moldova in their opening September clash.

Taking points on Swedish soil would be huge for their chances of qualifying.

Euro 2024 hosts Germany are competing in friendlies until the tournament gets underway next summer.

Eder Militao's injury has increased Antonio Rudiger's importance to Carlo Ancelotti's defence drastically and the Italian will be hoping the aggressive German simply avoids injury on international duty.

Viaplay Sports 2 will be broadcasting Germany's upcoming friendlies against Japan and France in the UK.

How to watch Real Madrid's Ukraine internationals on TV and live stream

Andriy Lunin

Thibaut Courtois' ACL injury offered Lunin a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, he could finally earn regular first-team minutes. However, after an unconvincing pre-season, the club opted to loan in Kepa and the Ukrainian's pathway to action has once again been obscured.

The 24-year-old has earned nine caps for Ukraine since 2018, but Benfica's Anatoliy Trubin is the current number one and he should start between the sticks for his country's two crucial Euro 2024 qualifiers against England and Italy.
