Real Madrid president Florentino Perez dismissed questions about Kylian Mbappe after his side's Supercopa de Espana triumph.

Perez watched on as Madrid beat Barcelona 4-1 on Sunday, with Vinicius Junior's first-half hat-trick ultimately sealing a famous Clasico victory for Madrid.

Celebrating with Vinicius and the rest of Madrid's stars was Perez's top priority after the game, with the club president refusing to add fuel to the fire of a potential move for Mbappe.

"It's really not the day to talk about this, it's the day to congratulate the players we have, not those other teams have." he told the media.

Mbappe's PSG contract expires this summer and Madrid are keen to finally land the Frenchman's signature, although PSG are trying to keep their talisman and are working to convince him to sign a new deal.

Thanks to an agreement between Mbappe and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi earlier this season, PSG are not concerned by the prospect of losing the 25-year-old on a free transfer as Mbappe has already committed to returning a significant sum of money to the club if he chooses to leave this summer.

Just how Mbappe would fit in a Madrid side which already features an elite left-sided forward in Vinicius is unclear. There have even been speculative claims that Madrid could part ways with the Brazilian to make space in their team, but Perez wasted little time in reaffirming his commitment to Vinicius going forwards.

"He shines almost always, today he deserved it and he is very happy," the president added. "The effort he makes in each game is phenomenal, that is why he is one of the best in the world.

"He is very young, he is happy and he is very good and every year he's going to be better."

On his side's successful Supercopa run, Perez concluded: "We have played very well in both games, we have scored goals, the people have had fun and we have conveyed to the fans here that we have a great team and that every year we are going to work hard to give hope to the hundreds of millions of fans."
