Real Madrid transfers that could make their debut in the UEFA Super Cup
- Real Madrid won the 2024 Champions League
- Los Blancos take on Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, Aug. 14
- Kylian Mbappe is in Carlo Ancelotti's 24-man squad for the match
Real Madrid's blockbuster transfers will likely make their debuts in the UEFA Super Cup as the reigning Champions League winners look to secure their first trophy of the 2024/25 season.
Real Madrid earned yet another appearance in the UEFA Super Cup after defeating Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final back in June. Carlo Ancelotti's side will face the Europa League winners, Atalanta, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday, Aug. 14, and their new transfers will be on full display.
Unlike previous seasons, the defending Champions League and La Liga champions did not make a ton of moves in the off-season. Instead, they welcomed just two new players after saying goodbye to Toni Kroos, Nacho, and Joselu.
Fortunately for the Madridistas across the world, the two signings include one of the best players in the world, and he will likely make his Real Madrid debut in the UEFA Super Cup.
Real Madrid transfers that could make their debut in the UEFA Super Cup
1. Kylian Mbappe
After years of suspense, Kylian Mbappe's inevitable transfer to Real Madrid finally completed this summer. The 25-year-old is coming off a 44-goal season across all competitions for PSG, and will join Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo up top for Los Blancos.
Since the World Cup winner represented France at Euro 2024, he did not participate in any of Real Madrid's three pre-season matches, meaning his debut will likely come against Atalanta.
For all of Mbappe's domestic and international success, he has never won a Champions League, and therefore he has never won a UEFA Super Cup. He could get his Real Madrid career off to a thrilling start if he delivers in his first match for Carlo Ancelotti.
2. Endrick
Although Endrick already made his debut for Real Madrid this pre-season against AC Milan, the Brazilian will play his first meaningful minutes for Los Blancos in the UEFA Super Cup. After sitting out against Chelsea, the striker will be well-rested and ready to possibly score his first goal for Carlo Ancelotti's side on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old helped Palmeiras secure their 12th Brazilian league title before representing the Selecao this summer at Copa America 2024. Like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, Endrick will look to put his lackluster international performances behind him now that he is in Spain.
The wonderkid has high expectations coming into his first La Liga season after Real Madrid agreed to his transfer back in 2022, when the player was just 16 years old. His transfer fee is already up to €46.5m thanks to various add-ons, and the world will be closely watching to see if he lives up to the price and the hype.
