Real Madrid vs Athletic Club - La Liga: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction
By Tom Gott
Three points against Athletic Club on Sunday will ensure Real Madrid finish above Atletico in the 2022/23 La Liga standings.
The league title was lost long ago and the focus is now on ensuring dominance in their own city. Diego Simeone's side face a tricky trip to Villarreal and Real simply need to match Atletico's result to seal second place.
Athletic won't be in a giving mood, however. They're sitting seventh in the Europa Conference League spot, and while they can't move any higher, they could end up as low as 11th if results elsewhere go against them. Three points is the only way to guarantee it.
With a lot on the line for both sides, here's all you need to know about this game.

Real Madrid vs Athletic Club score prediction
Athletic's woeful form - one win in seven games - makes for fantastic reading for Real, who will be confident of piling on the misery and landing the final blow to the visitors' European hopes.
The Basque side will definitely come out firing for this one. With eighth-placed Osasuna (level on points) facing ninth-placed Girona (one point behind), Athletic are likely to be bumped out of seventh if they don't win here, but Carlo Ancelotti's side are at their best when their opponents try and ramp up the pressure.
Expect Real to sit back and soak things up before a quick counter or two seals the victory.
