Report: Antony makes decision on Fenerbahce interest
- Antony has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce
- Winger has fallen out of favour at Manchester United
- Brazilian keen to fight for position at Old Trafford rather than move to Turkiye
Antony is said to be committed to Manchester United and will remain at Old Trafford, despite interest from Fenerbahce.
The Brazilian has endured a tough couple of seasons at United and so far seen just one minute of football across the Red Devils' opening three fixtures of the 2024/25 campaign. Most of his outings last year came from the bench, with the winger scoring just one Premier League goal all season long.
Antony, despite falling out of favour at Old Trafford, did not make a move away before the end of the English summer transfer window, with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly blocking a late loan exit for the winger.
Turkish clubs can still sign players until Friday and Fenerbahce have raced ahead as potential suitors for Antony. But according to ESPN, he would rather stay and fight for his spot at United than move to the Super Lig.
The report reveals that while Antony is keen to feature more regularly, he would rather stay at Old Trafford than head to Fenerbahce.
The former Ajax star would have the opportunity to join forces with Jose Mourinho if he were to opt for a move Fenerbahce, who will come up against United in the Europa League this autumn.
Red Devils boss Ten Hag is reluctant to lose Antony after bidding farewell to Scott McTominay and sending Jadon Sancho out on loan to Chelsea towards the end of the summer window. Amad Diallo's resurgence has kept Antony out of Ten Hag's first XI, with the Ivorian youngster filling in on the right-wing.
