Major League Soccer expansion team San Diego FC reached an agreement to sign winger Hirving "Chucky" Lozano ahead of its debut in 2025, ESPN reported Monday.

According to ESPN's report, Lozano will stay with his current team PSV Eindhoven until the team's debut in 2025. Lozano's proposed salary is in the $7-9 million range as a Designated Player. ESPN reported he hasn't signed the contract yet, but the deal is expected to be completed with an announcement soon.

Lozano would be the first DP signing for the team. Lozano has featured in the past two World Cups for Mexico. He is a decorated player winning the Eredivisie, Liga MX Clasurua, Concacaf Champions League and Serie A in his career. Lozano, however, will not feature for the Mexican national team at the upcoming Copa America in the United States.

Lozano's signing would follow Olivier Giroud's move to LAFC. As well, Marco Reus has reportedly had discussions with LA Galaxy after becoming a free agent following the Champions League final.
