Scott McTominay has lauded the impact of Manchester United's new signings in raising the spirit of the side.

United made it back-to-back league victories for the first time since February with a 1-0 victory at Southampton, ending a run of seven straight away defeats in the Premier League.

Lisandro Martinez partnered Raphael Varane in defence, while Casemiro made his debut in United colours for the remaining 11 minutes after arriving from Real Madrid last week.

And McTominay says the impact of the summer signings has been felt in the training ground as the side aim to climb the table under Erik ten Hag.

"We have to make sure the team spirit keeps lifting," said the Scotland international. "The guys that we've brought in, Casemiro and Lisandro [Martinez], they're doing an amazing job in training, obviously we just want them to settle in as quickly as possible.

"To learn from someone like him [Casemiro], who has done pretty much everything in the game, is amazing. His mentality, the way that he is so firm with everything that he does. He's an amazing footballer who can help us so much and be one of our main players.

"It's great to have him, we love him and Lisandro, Tyrell [Malacia] as well. The guys that we have brought in are doing a great job and long may that continue."

Consecutive victories for United have pushed Ten Hag's men into the top half after a dismal start to the season, with the side set to visit the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in midweek.
