Five-time champions of Europe's second competition, Sevilla face English opposition for the second match in a row after an 88th-minute header was enough to see them past a tired Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United looked weary themselves against FC Copenhagen in the quarter-finals. The Premier League side's fatigue will not have benefitted from the additional 30 minutes of running which ensued after their Danish opponents - inspired by a remarkable display from their goalkeeper - forced extra time.

Despite the congested nature of the restructured tournament, neither side have any fresh injury concerns going in to the semi-final.

Sevilla manager Julen Lopetgui has a full roster to choose from, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is missing a trio of defenders.

The Andalusian outfit have kept five consecutive clean sheets and conceded just one goal in their last eight games. Inevitably, one of the stars of this stingy backline - Diego Carlos - has been linked with a move away.

United may have laboured to a win against Copenhagen, but Anthony Martial was one of the few who showed little sign of fatigue, nimbly weaving his way through the Danish defence on numerous occasions.

That extra-time victory meant United have suffered just one defeat in the last 24 games - although that loss also came in a semi-final, when Chelsea knocked the Red Devils out of the FA Cup.

Prediction

Sevilla's players and staff have so regularly referenced their recent domination of this tournament, it's clear that those in the Spanish camp believe that winning habit has an impact on the modern day proceedings.

United, however, can point to a more recent triumph. Six of the players that featured in the 2017 final against Ajax are still at the club - including Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

However, the sluggishness of United's outings in the immediate past - stretching beyond just their quarter-final - is a rather more worrisome omen.
