Sheffield United 1-2 Chelsea: Player ratings as Timo Werner inspires Blues to victory
Timo Werner registered an assist and won a penalty as Chelsea remained unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
After struggling for much of the first half, Chelsea finally discovered their rhythm just before the break. Ben Chilwell found Werner with a clipped ball down the line and the German then pulled it back for Mount to stroke home.
Just before the hour mark, the Blues gifted their hosts a way back into the game with Antonio Rudiger poking the ball past the onrushing Edouard Mendy and into his own net.
Four minutes later Aaron Ramsdale brought Timo Werner down in the box. After a VAR review, a penalty was given, which Jorginho stroked home to restore Chelsea's lead. The Blades registered little in response, allowing the Blues to coast to a win that moves them up to fifth in the Premier League table.
