Sheffield United predicted lineup vs Manchester City - FA Cup
Sheffield United will look to keep their hopes of a promotion and cup double alive when they face Premier League champions Manchester City in FA Cup semi finals on Saturday.
The Blades last reached this stage of the competition in 2013/14 when they were beaten by Hull in a 5-3 thriller. The most recent of their four FA Cup triumphs came in 1925, when Fred Tunstall scored the final's only goal against Cardiff.
In more present times, United look well set to join Burnley in automatic promotion to the Premier League and have defeated Millwall, Wrexham, Tottenham and Blackburn to reach the last four.
Here's the side Paul Heckingbottom may deploy to beat Pep Guardiola and co.
Sheffield United predicted lineup vs Manchester City (3-5-2)
GK: Wes Foderingham - Set to return from suspension after getting sent off against Burnley.
CB: Anel Ahmedhodzic - Returned to the side against Bristol City, having missed the previous win over Cardiff.
CB: John Egan - Was a youngster at Sunderland but not included in squads for a number of victories over Man City in the early 2010s. Lost all four of his Premier League games against them with the Blades.
CB: Jack Robinson - Has scored three Championship goals from defence this season, a joint-best haul in his career.
RWB: George Baldock - Is an often fiery presence for the Blades out wide and recently admitted "the tougher the opposition, the more you had to find a way to get an edge over your opponent”.
CM: Sander Berge - May well come face to face with compatriot Erling Haaland on Saturday afternoon. They met twice in the 2019/20 Champions League group stage, when Haaland's scored four goals in two games for Red Bull Salzburg against Berge's Genk.
CM: Oliver Norwood - Tommy Doyle and James McAtee are both ineligible to face their parent club, which opens the door for 32-year-old Norwood to start.
