Spain continue their bid to reach Euro 2024 in Germany when they host Cyprus on Tuesday night in their second qualifier of the September international break.

La Roja made light work of Georgia with a 7-1 thrashing last time out but are a whopping nine points behind Group A leaders Scotland, having played two games fewer due to their Nations League commitments.

With a few squad withdrawals to consider, here's the side manager Luis de la Fuente could send out against Cyprus.

GK: Unai Simon - Has Spain's number one shirt for now with David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga his competition for this international break.

RB: Dani Carvajal - Has seen pretty much everything with Real Madrid and Spain but is just as amazed at Jude Bellingham's start to life at the Bernabeu as the rest of us.

CB: Robin Le Normand - One half of a French-born centre-back partnership, Real Sociedad's Le Normand only made his national team debut in May 2023 after being granted Spanish nationality.

CB: Aymeric Laporte - Le Normand was never called into a France squad like Laporte was twice. He's since helped Spain win the 2022/23 Nations League.

LB: Alejandro Balde - Jose Gaya started last time out but Balde will hope for a start as he looks to succeed Jordi Alba at international level as well as Barcelona.

CM: Gavi - Has been getting picked on for wearing protective head gear of late, with reports speculating the Barca prodigy has been labelled 'Petr Cech' in reference to the former Chelsea goalkeeper's rugby cap.

CM: Rodri - Has called for greater intervention on Saudi Arabia's transfer spending as it means "European football loses with this situation".

CM: Fabian Ruiz - Grabbed the assist for Morata's second goal against Georgia and slipped in easily alongside Gavi and Rodri.

RW: Lamine Yamal - Made history with his appearance in the Georgia game, after which he admitted he is "living the dream" as Spain's youngest player and goalscorer.

ST: Alvaro Morata - Spain's captain scored his first hat-trick at club or international level since April 2017, when he starred in Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Leganes.

LW: Nico Williams - Came off the bench to score his first goal of the season, having blanked for Athletic Club thus far. Also assisted Gaya's strike.
