Spain predicted lineup vs Greece - World Cup qualifying
Spain go into their World Cup qualifier against Greece on Thursday two points adrift of Group B leaders Sweden.
With La Furia Roja set to face off with the Swedes in their last match, three points is vital here to set up a tense final-day showdown.
Luis Enrique has a few injury problems to deal with ahead of the double header, though. Here is the starting XI he seems most likely to go with against Greece.
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Unai Simon (GK) - He has an error in him, sure, but Simon has performed solidly enough to fend off competition from David de Gea and Robert Sanchez for the number-one jersey.
Dani Carvajal (RB) - He isn't the player he once was, injuries have seen to that, but Carvajal's experience will prove vital in these back-to-back important games.
Pau Torres (CB) - Villarreal have dropped off this season but they remain a stubborn proposition defensively. Torres is a big reason for their stinginess.
Aymeric Laporte (CB) - Laporte switching his allegiances from France to Spain was a real boost for La Furia Roja before the Euros and it also increases their World Cup chances markedly - providing they qualify, of course.
Jordi Alba (LB) - One of the few remaining relics of Barcelona's glory years. He is probably happy for some time away from that omnishambles to be honest.
2. Midfielders
Koke (CM) - Spain have an exciting generation of young midfielders coming through but they will have their work cut out displacing the ever-reliable Koke from the side.
Sergio Busquets (CM) - The timeless pass master will earn his 132nd cap on Thursday, taking him past Andres Iniesta to fourth on his country's all-time appearance list.
Gavi (CM) - Gavi became the youngest ever Spain international against Italy last month, playing with the maturity of someone with hundreds of top-flight appearances.
3. Forwards
Pablo Sarabia (RW) - Pushed out of the door at PSG following the arrival of Lionel Messi, Sarabia is out to prove a point on loan at Sporting CP this season.
Alvaro Morata (ST) - Missing for his side's Nations League Finals exploits, Morata is back in the fold this time.
Dani Olmo (LW) - Injuries have limited Olmo's involvement for club and country so far this season. Don't be surprised to see him start here though, as he auditions for a place in the side for the big one against Sweden a few days later.
