Spain will look to remain perfect at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games as they compete against Colombia in the competition's quarter-finals.

Even though it is Spain's first ever Olympic appearance, the reigning World Cup champions have looked right at home. Unsurprisingly, La Roja finished atop Group C with all nine points, defeating Japan, Nigeria, and Brazil. Even more impressive, they only conceded one goal along the way.

Colombia's tournament has been much more tumultuous. Angelo Marsiglia's squad only managed to advance to the knockout stage as the first-best third place team after failing to edge out Canada in Group A, who had a six point deduction. Their poor performances in the group stage punched their ticket to a showdown with arguably the best team in the world.

Here's 90min's guide to Spain vs Colombia on Aug. 3.

Spain team news

Spain will hope to insert Irene Paredes back into the starting XI after the defender missed their final fixture against Brazil due to minor discomforts. Paredes and Laia Aleixandri are one of the best center-back pairings in the entire world, and they will be heavily relied upon if Spain want to take home a medal.

Otherwise, expect all of La Roja's best players, including Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas, to start after being rested last match.

Colombia team news

Catalina Usme

Colombia will likely still be without Catalina Usme after the captain was stretchered off the pitch against New Zealand with a hip injury. Losing the 34-year-old is a huge blow for Colombia; her leadership, goalscoring ability, and accurate passing will be very missed against Spain.

A lot of pressure will fall to Manuela Pavi and Mayra Ramierz in front of goal, especially after Canada held Colombia scoreless last match.

Spain vs Colombia score prediction

Spain should comfortably beat Colombia in the quarter-finals. The reigning World Cup champions have been perfect at the 2024 Olympics so far, and it is hard to imagine a scenario in which Colombia is strong enough to contend with Bonmati, Putellas, and co. La Roja also kept two clean sheets in the group stage, and have the skill at the back to deny a Colombian side that could not score against Canada.

Prediction: Spain 2-0 Colombia
