Spain's preparations for Euro 2020 couldn't have been much worse as coronavirus issues meant they were forced to name a whole new squad as backup to their first team - Luis Enrique is probably wishing he'd played the B team in their opener.

La Roja dominated the ball for the majority of their clash with Sweden, yet they couldn't find a breakthrough and very nearly lost their first outing of Euro 2020 but their blushes were spared by Marcus Berg's awful finish.

Poland experienced a similarly underwhelming start to their campaign as they were beaten 2-1 by Slovakia, meaning the two sides are in desperate need of a win heading into their clash on Saturday evening.

Spain team news

Luis Enrique will once again be without the services of Sergio Busquets as the Barcelona man continues his recovery from coronavirus, though it's hoped he could be available for their final group outing against Slovakia.

Alvaro Morata's performance against Sweden came under a lot of scrutiny after he missed a gilt-edged opportunity to hand his side the three points. Enrique has said nothing to suggest his support of the frontman is waning, so expect him to start.

Poland team news

Paulo Sousa will be without the suspended Grzegorz Krychowiak after he was sent off in their opening game of Euro 2020, meaning Jakub Moder could be handed his first start of the tournament.

The only good news to come from Poland's defeat to Slovakia is that no injuries were picked up, meaning Robert Lewandowski will once again lead the line as he carries the hopes of a nation on his shoulders.

If there were any doubts over Pedri's talents before the start of Euro 2020, his showing in Spain's game against Sweden well and truly put them to bed. The youngster was one of the few players to come out of the clash with any credit, with his progressive passing and sharp turns proving key to creating chances - which his teammates missed. He'll likely be handed a second start of the tournament against Poland and he's honestly one of the most exciting players at Euro 2020.

Poland have only ever beaten Spain once, though the good news for Poland fans is the pair haven't met for well over a decade and so a lot has changed since they last crossed paths - the bad news is their last game saw Spain smash them 6-0.

The ironic thing about this clash is Poland have the one thing Spain need - if you were to put Lewandowski in Enrique's side they'd suddenly look a decent outfit, though the Polish hitman was far from his brilliant best against Slovakia.

It's almost impossible to imagine Spain could be as toothless again as they were against Sweden, and after a stuttered start to their campaign you'd fancy them to edge a scrappy victory before finally clicking into gear in.
