The stat that puts Tottenham top of the Premier League

Things haven't panned out for Tottenham like many fans hoped the 2022/23 season would under Antonio Conte.
After nicking a Champions League spot last tern, Spurs have failed to kick on when some thought they could challenge for the Premier League title. Instead, it's north London rivals Arsenal who are primed to displace Manchester City as champions of England.
However, even in the doom and gloom of the final days under their Italian manager, there have been some signs of encouragement for the Lilywhite faithful, with their side often responding to calls for more attacking football in second halves.
Premier League table 2022/23 - Second half at home
Tottenham have gained a reputation for being one of the Premier League's slowest starting teams, often drawing exasperated groans at their stadium for insipid first half performances.
However, Conte's side have often shown improvement in the second half of matches. They currently sit top if that metric, managing more wins in the second half of games at home than any other side. 20 of their 29 league goals at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have come after the half-time break.

Manchester United are two points behind in second having played a game fewer, with Liverpool and Arsenal making up the top four. Man City are surprisingly fifth, though they top the first half at home table with 29 points, often blitzing teams during the opening 45 minutes before taking their foot off the gas.

Southampton have the worst record down in 20th by four points, with Leicester and Wolves joining the Saints in the relegation places. That is where they sit in the normal Premier League table, though the relegation battle is so intense that teams have been swapping in and out of the danger places regularly.
Nottingham Forest, who are still in the relegation dogfight, place ninth for performances in second halves at home. Their home record has been strong all season, with their issues coming on the road with just one away win in 13 games.
Chelsea unsurprisingly don't impress with their ranking of 13th, though there have been recent signs of improvement after a dismal run under Graham Potter.
