Sweden and Portugal will meet in the final round of Group C fixtures this weekend.

The Swedes came into Euro 2022 as one of the tournament favourites and will secure a place in the knockout rounds as long as they don't lose fall to a surprise defeat here. But to win the group they need to make sure they have a superior goal difference to Netherlands, who currently lead the incredibly tight standings on goals scored.

Portugal have twice come from 2-0 down, drawing 2-2 against Switzerland and losing 3-2 to Netherlands. They too could also still qualify for the knockouts, but it would take what would be an historic win for them and ensuring their goal difference is better than Switzerland's.

Sweden team news

Peter Gerhardsson gave Sweden a day off training on Friday, with players taking advantage of the spa facilities at their hotel to rest and relax.

Johanna Rytting Kaneyrd impressed off the bench against Switzerland and is pushing for a start here. Gerhardsson is also likely to keep the back four system he adopted against the Swiss.

Portugal team news

If only Portugal hadn't gone 2-0 down in both of their games so far, they might have had a few points on the board by now and be heading into this match with more of a chance of making the knockouts than they do. The key will be being better at defending set-pieces.

Coach Francisco Neto could pick the same team again, but Kika Nazareth is again pushing for a start after another promising substitute appearance against Netherlands.

Sweden vs Portugal predicted lineups

Sweden (4-2-3-1): Lindahl; Glas, Ilestedt, Bjorn, Eriksson; Seger, Angeldahl; Rytting Kaneyrd, Asllani, Rolfo; Blackstenius

Sweden vs Portugal score prediction

The obvious winner here should be Sweden. They haven't had things all their own way, being pegged back by Netherlands and then waiting until the latter stages to beat Switzerland, but the squad has the experience and quality to get the job done.

Portugal ought not to be underestimated, though. They were unlucky not to actually beat Switzerland and pushed Netherlands hard until the end. Conceding has been the issue.

Prediction: Sweden 3-1 Portugal
