Switzerland's Euro 2020 campaign kicked off with a disappointing draw against Wales in Baku, and their job doesn't get any easier as they face Italy in Rome on Wednesday.

Breel Embolo's opener was cancelled out by Kieffer Moore's header, and Mario Gavranovic's late winner was ruled out for offside.

Vladimir Petkovic's men will have to be at their best to beat an Italy side full of confidence after thrashing Turkey on Friday - here is the lineup he should pick.

Switzerland predicted lineup vs Italy - Euro 2020

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Yann Sommer (GK) - Made a couple of decent saves vs Wales, nothing really he could do about the goal. Comfortably Switzerland's starting keeper.

Nico Elvedi (CB) - Similarly solid vs Wales but will be in for a tougher test up against Lorenzo Insigne.

Fabian Schar (CB) - Nearly scored with an outrageous flick on Saturday. Will need to put his blips in concentration behind him.

Manuel Akanji (CB) - The Borussia Dortmund defender has a lot of experience on the European stage, which will be vital in such a big fixture.

2. Wing-backs & Midfielders

Kevin Mbabu (RWB) - Looked dangerous in advanced areas against Wales. Will have a lot of work to do the other way in clamping down Leonardo Spinazzola.

Granit Xhaka (CM) - Captain, leader, legend by Swiss standards, maybe. Will be key to the midfield battle against Jorginho.

Remo Freuler (CM) - Will be on familiar ground having spent six seasons with Atalanta.

Denis Zakaria (CM) - Didn't start against Wales and lost Moore for Wales' goal, but needs to come into the lineup in order for Switzerland to try and gain more control.

Ricardo Rodriguez (LWB) - The Torino wing-back will be Switzerland's best threat down the flanks and from set pieces.

3. Forwards

Xherdan Shaqiri (SS) - Didn't have much of an impact in a free role against Wales, but is likely have more space against Italy and should move into the frontline.

Breel Embolo (CF) - Easily Switzerland's biggest threat, was a menace all game long against Wales and will look to test the legs of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.
