Team Ronaldinho vs Team Roberto Carlos: Stars take part in exhibition

The DRV PNK Stadium played host to a glittering charity match on Saturday as Roberto Carlos and Ronaldinho squared off in 'The Beautiful Game by R10 and RC3'.

The first edition of the legends' celebrity match combined legendary names from the football world with sporting icons from wider areas as well as some entertainment figures.

The game was announced back in April, with Ronaldinho revealing "the absence of a major futbol event happening this summer" was a reason behind the celebrity get-together.

Team Roberto Carlos 12-10 Team Ronaldinho

As you can tell by the scoreline, this wasn't the most ordinary match.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala and Vinicius Junior featured but it was Ronaldinho who opened the scoring, sliding in from close range after just seven minutes.

Rivaldo, Cafu, Dybala and Vinicius all scored before half time before NBA legend Steve Nash grabbed one, with Team Roberto Carlos leading 8-5 at the break.

Vinicius then swapped sides as Carlos' side eventually saw out a 12-10 victory at the home of Inter Miami.

Nani said: "I’m enjoying this wonderful opportunity that these futbol legends have given me. It’s been a great honour to be here and share the pitch with them. So, for that reason, at this moment, I am only thinking about what is happening right now because it’s a special moment and definitely one that I am enjoying."

Roberto Carlos added: "For me, to play with them was the best. To be able to reunite the friends, players you always see on the TV, to be able to bring them here - which was difficult with every player having their own schedule, some on vacations, others thinking about their contracts.

"We've been asking for them to join us for a while and we’ve been able to get the majority. It’s been great. A full stadium to see these players like Ronaldinho, Mariano, Vinicius [Jr.], [Eder] Militao, and more. That’s very worth it."
