The Bayern Munich Lineup That Should Start Against Union Berlin
Although the Bundesliga champions don't look as unbeatable as they have done over the last 12 months, Bayern Munich still possess the talent to strike fear into whoever they come up against.
Saturday sees the Bavarians travel to the capital city to take on Union Berlin. Hansi Flick fielded a slightly weakened side against Lokomotiv Moscow in midweek in the Champions League, with qualification for the last 16 already wrapped up.
Against Union, some of the first-team regulars are expected to return to the side as Bayern look to get back to winning ways following the 3-3 draw with RB Leipzig last time out in the league.
Here's the Bayern lineup that could, and should, take the field on Saturday evening.
1. Goalkeeper and Defenders
Manuel Neuer (GK): The immovable object between the sticks, there's no displacing him in this Bayern side. Both a leader and a legend.
Benjamin Pavard (RB): A consistent performer under Hansi Flick, will likely keep his place in the team.
Jerome Boateng (CB): Another fixture at the back for the Bayern boss. The German's better days may be behind him but he still does an important job for the Bavarians.
David Alaba (CB): The versatile Austrian will rejoin Boateng as his centre-back partner after playing at left-back against Leipzig, with Theo Hernandez dropping to the bench.
Alphonso Davies (LB): Just like on the pitch, Davies' recovery speed from injury is extraordinary. He played in midweek in the Champions League and looks raring to go for Bayern at left-back once again.
2. Midfielders
Leon Goretzka (DM): The German man mountain will retain his position in the midfield.
Marc Roca (DM): After some positive displays in Europe for Roca, one would imagine Roca could make his first Bundesliga appearance for Bayern against Union Berlin.
Thomas Muller (AM): The Bundesliga's top assister this season will continue to create chances in Berlin for Bayern Munich.
3. Forwards
Serge Gnabry (RW): Didn't start the games against RB Leipzig and Lokomotiv Moscow in midweek, so will likely come back in against Union Berlin.
Robert Lewandowski (ST): The Bundesliga's top marksman will look to get back on the scoresheet after not managing to net against Leipzig last weekend.
Kingsly Coman (LW): Kingsly Coman has come on leaps and bounds in recent months and has added consistent end product to his exciting attacking play. The French winger should continue his run in the team.
