The best goals of MLS matchday 16 - ranked

Wednesday night's MLS action featured plenty of brilliant finishes from around the league.
Atlanta United's Miguel Berry volleyed home a shot from distance late in the game that nearly completed a miraculous comeback, while FC Cincinnati's Luciano Acosta and LA Galaxy's Memo Rodriguez curled in shots from distance that were placed perfectly in the top corners.
Here are the best goals from the midweek matchday...
5. Cole Bassett (vs. Columbus Crew)

Althought the Rapids went on to lose the game and have had a disappointing season, their supporters will definitely remember this stunning strike from Cole Bassett. The young midfielder scored his second goal of the season in style.
4. Luciano Acosta (vs. NYCFC)

What a way to celebrate your birthday. Luciano Acosta scored the opening goal of the game vs. NYCFC with a perfectly placed finish. FC Cincinnati continues to win and further the gap (that is now eight points) between them and Nashville SC, who are currently second in the Eastern Conference.
3. Memo Rodriguez (vs. Real Salt Lake)
An absolute STUNNER🔥@40_jrod responds in #RSLvLA! pic.twitter.com/19HXGMOj3o

Take a bow, Memo Rodriguez. That's some way to score your first goal of the season. The Galaxy, who are second to last in the Western Conference, would go on to pick up a much needed victory over the Real Salt Lake, 3-2.
2. Pablo Ruiz (vs. LA Galaxy)
Just an absolute beauty from Pablo pic.twitter.com/A5guqZQ5pt

Another banger from the Real Salt Lake-LA Galaxy game as Pablo Ruiz curls in a free-kick with ease. There was nothing that Jonathan Bond could do to keep that one out. However, it wouldn't be enough to win for RSL as their 2023 woes continue.
1. Miguel Berry (vs. New England Revolution)
What a goal 🎯🚀 pic.twitter.com/uS0eWYtqS6

That is some finish from Miguel Berry, who is another player on this list to scored their first goal for their respective club. In fact, this was Berry's first goal in over a year. Berry sent the Atlanta United fans into delirium as they thought they'd completed the comeback after being down 2-1, but the Revs would equalize in stoppage time as the Five Stripes inconsistent season continues.
