The best goals of MLS week 14 - ranked
Week 14 of the 2022 Major League Soccer campaign is in the books, and players left their marks before heading into international duty for the June window.
Luquinhas and Lewis Morgan both found the net for the New York Red Bulls in spectacular fashion to triumph 4-1 over D.C. United, while Alejandro Pozuelo fired a shot to lead Toronto FC 3-2 against the Chicago Fire.
Here are the top goals of Week 14…
5. Paul Arriola (vs. Orlando City)
The FC Dallas winger is unstoppable.
Paul Arriola contributed yet again to another FC Dallas win, managing two goals in the second half to cement his place in the team after only arriving in the offseason. Following his performance, head coach Nico Estevez branded the player the 'best in the league'.
"This is why the club invested. We [were] clear [on] his potential and what he can do. He's the best winger in the league. And then he's showing up every weekend...we are really, really happy to have him on our team."
4. Alejandro Pozuelo (vs. Chicago Fire)
Pozuelo’s right-footed strike won the game for Toronto FC. While it looked like the game would end 2-2, the player had different plans. The goal marked his fourth of the season in 12 appearances for the Canadian MLS side.
3. Luquinhas (vs. D.C. United)
The offseason pick made his presence known for the Red Bulls on Saturday, scoring the team’s first and second. Overall, the Brazilian player has managed four goals in 12 appearances.
2. Raul Ruidiaz (vs. Charlotte FC)
Raul Ruidiaz is back!
After a slight injury setback, the player is back and better than ever. Coming from the left, the managed an 80th minute right-footed strike to reach the top right corner and win the match for the Sounders.
1. Lewis Morgan (vs. D.C. United)
Coming in at number one: Lewis Morgan.
The player’s 63rd minute volley was one to watch! It stands as the midfielder’s sixth goal in 13 appearances, boosting his spot in the 2022 MLS Golden Boot race.
