The clubs Karim Benzema has scored the most goals against

One of the best strikers of his generation, Karim Benzema has seemingly been around forever.

After making his debut as a 17-year-old at Lyon, Benzema would go on to win four Ligue 1 titles with his boyhood club before joining Real Madrid in 2009.

Since joining Real Madrid, he has gone on to become the foreign player with the most appearances in the club's history and one of the top five goal scorers in the club's history. Not bad, eh?

30. Liverpool (4 goals)

The Frenchman loves a game against England's current champions. In three appearances he's scored four times, including the opener in the 2018 Champions League final.

29. APOEL Nicosia (4 goals)

Benzema became the highest scoring Frenchman in Champions League history when he scored twice against the Cypriots in 2017.

28. Ajax (4 goals)

Recent games against the Dutch outfit haven't been so fun for Benzema, but he has managed to score four against them over the years.

27. Olympique Marseille (4 goals)

Benzema has never scored against Marseille for Real Madrid, but did so four times while at Lyon.

A double in the Champions League semi-final second leg from Benzema saw Real Madrid oust Bayern Munich from the tournament en route to their famous three-peat back in 2018.

When Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, all eyes were on Benzema to step up and lead the team. He's done so, with this against Celta being one of his better efforts.

24. Galatasaray (5 goals)

Five goals in five games against the Turkish giants includes two braces - one of which came as recently as 2019 in the Champions League group stages.

During his time in France, Benzema may not have scored a more memorable goal than this one in 2007 against SM Caen. It was one of his four in three starts against them, and he also scored as a substitute in the cup too.

Benzema's five goals against Girona have come in just three of the six games he's played against them, including this brace in 2018 in a 4-1 win.

The first team on this list against which Benzema has scored a hat-trick, the honour goes to Auxerre who got hit with a treble in 2010. He also scored twice against them for Lyon in the 07/08 campaign.

A game that Benzema always enjoyed, he scored in four separate fixtures against Sochaux during his time with Lyon.

Benzema's time in Spain has been littered with inconsistent scoring spells but he has scored four goals in his last four league appearances against Leganes.

Two of Benzema's five goals against Valladolid came in a memorable 4-1 win in 2019, as he wore the captain's armband and dragged his side to a comeback win.

His last league goal against Osasuna came back on the final day of the 2012/13 season, but his best was a stunning Marco van Basten-esque volley the season before.

15. Atletico Madrid (5 goals)

Real Madrid's top goalscorer in the 19/20 campaign, Benzema's goal against local rivals Atletico Madrid in February put Los Blancos well on their way to a La Liga title.

A Benzema double on the penultimate day of the season in 2020 saw Real Madrid crowned champions, as he scored a retaken penalty following a Pires/Henry style mess-up the first time around.

13. Rayo Vallecano (8 goals)

Another team who Benzema has scored a hat-trick against, this one came in a huge 10-2 win where the 'BBC' strike-force got nine goals between them back in 2015.

In 11 games against Eibar, Benzema has scored eight goals but they've all come in just five games. He has hit a brace on three separate occasions and also grabbed one in the 3-1 win just before the end of 2020.

A fantastic return of eight goals in 12 games, Benzema scored in six consecutive games against Real Betis between 2013 and 2016.

With a goal in both of the games in the 2019/20 season, Benzema took his tally up to eight against Real Sociedad as Madrid won their 34th Spanish league title.

One of the most aesthetically pleasing goals of Benzema's career came against Espanyol in 2019.

The 33-year-old hasn't scored in any of his last five games against Getafe, but that barren run comes after he scored four in three including the brace above in 2015.

A hat-trick way back in 2010/11 started him off well against Levante before a bit of a dry spell. But four in his last four games, including the header above, now mean they're one of Benz's favourite opponents.

A man for the big occasion, Benzema's record against Sevilla (one of the better teams in La Liga) is incredible impressive, with nine goals and ten assists in 24 games.

5. Barcelona (9 goals)

Nine goals against Barcelona isn't too bad, eh? Benzema grabbed a brace back in 2014 as they were beaten 4-3 in a classic at the Bernabeu and has, more often than not, performed in El Clasico.

4. Malaga (10 goals)

Ten goals in 12 games against Malaga means Benzema is constantly a thorn in their side, with his most recent effort coming in 2017 before their relegation.

3. Valencia (11 goals)

Five goals in his last four appearances against Valencia has really pushed them well up this list, with a super brace post lockdown in 2020 beginning the charge towards the title for Real Madrid.

2. Athletic Club (13 goals)

Benzema's joint favourite opponent in terms of goals scored, Benz bagged a hat-trick against Athletic Club in 2019. He added two more to his tally as recently as December 2020 too.

1. Granada (13 goals)

13 goals in 13 games, Benzema has scored in ten of Real Madrid's last 11 games against Granada. He grabbed a brace in their 9-1 win back in April 2015 in a stellar performance.
