The Juventus Lineup That Should Start Against Benevento
Juventus turn their full attention to the Serie A title race when they take on Benevento this Saturday evening.
The reigning champions are unbeaten so far in the league but with several injuries and top players not underperforming, Andrea Pirlo has some decisions to make ahead of this weekend's game. So with that in mind, we at 90min have taken a look at who should start for the Bianconeri for this crucial league fixture.
1. Goalkeeper and Defenders
Wojciech Szczesny (GK): The ex-Arsenal stopper has cemented his role as Juventus' number one and will continue in that role here.
Juan Cuadrado (RB): A winger by trade, Juventus' injury issues have seen him moved to full-back where he has performed admirably.
Matthijs De Ligt (CB): The only fit centre back in the squad but also arguably their best - he is a guaranteed starter in this one.
Danilo (CB): Traditionally a full-back on either side, Danilo was used as a third centre-back earlier this season and now in a back four due to injuries.
Alex Sandro (LB): Finally fit again, Sandro has come back into the side at the perfect time. The first-choice left back starts this one.
2. Midfielders
Arthur Melo (DM): The summer signing struggled in midweek with a 'pig-headed' display but he'd done well prior to that. He should get another chance in this clash.
Rodrigo Bentancur (CM): A near perfect box-to-box midfielder, Bentancur's skillset brings a balance to Pirlo's side and his good form should see him start once again.
Adrien Rabiot (CM): The Frenchman's fine performances have seen him break into the national side and be a key figure under Pirlo. He's a guaranteed starter at this point.
3. Forwards
Paulo Dybala (RW): After struggling to impress in midweek, the Argentine will get another chance with Cristiano Ronaldo rested for this game.
Alvaro Morata (ST): Four goals and two assists in his last five appearances, including the winner in midweek mean Morata is a sure-fire starter for Pirlo against the league's joint-worst defence.
Dejan Kulusevki (LW): Another summer signing, the Swede has been a bright spark in an attacking side performing well. Pace, directness and goal threat sees him start.
