Deadpool and Wolverine is now in theatres worldwide starring Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds and there are some fun cameos tying in the EFL League One team to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

*Slight spoilers ahead, so if you haven't seen the film beware.*

Deadpool and Wolverine is Ryan Reynolds' grand entrance into the MCU and the return of Hugh Jackman's iconic Wolverine from Fox's X-Men franchise. Deadpool is known for his crass humor, fourth-wall breaking and his latest film is full of cameos. While we won't get into all the reveals in the film, there are three nods to Wrexham in the film and one that hilariously got omitted from the final cut.

Here are all the nods to Wrexham in Deadpool and Wolverine, plus the one that was cut.

Rob McElhenney's Deadpool and Wolverine cameo was cut from the film

Rob McElhenney is co-owner of Wrexham with Reynolds. Apparently, he was supposed to appear in the film as a TVA agent. McElhenny joked about a 6-hour trek to make his cameo for the film with a behind-the-scenes shot of him on set with Hugh Jackman on his X account, but it was cut from his viewing so fans should look out for it in other showings. Reynolds even joked in a reply that he's looking into the matter and this must've been a fluke.

Maybe McElhenney will make a director's cut...

A subtle nod to a Wrexham rival

Early on in the movie, Wade Wilson (Deadpool's real life name) is trying his hand at being a car salesman with his friend Peter played by Rob Delaney who debuted in Deadpool 2. As Peter opens his locker to reveal a Deadpool outfit, there's a sticker of a magpie which could be a nod to Notts County.

While Wrexham shares fiercer rivalries with clubs like Chester FC and Tranmere Rovers, Wrexham and Notts County was a major fixture in 2022/23 Vanarama National League season. Wrexham's 3-2 victory over Notts County was a major victory toward earning promotion to EFL League Two.

Welshpool makes his MCU debut

This one was hard to dodge, but not necessarily a major spoiler for the entire film if you saw it on social media. We won't go into further details, but Wrexham forward Paul Mullin is in the movie. He portrays a member of the Deadpool Corps from an alternate universe aptly named Welshpool.

The club went even further to acknowledge Mullin's inclusion by changing his roster photo to his Deadpool Corps character. A Deadpool mask celebration might be on the cards this season...

The Wrexham cameo you might've missed

The final quick cameo that if you blink you'll miss comes about 30 minutes into the movie. In the scene depicted in the trailer where Deadpool meets up with Wolverine, Wrexham forward Ollie Palmer can be seen in the background.
